New Jersey pastor says thou shalt not use Facebook

Rev Cedric Miller orders church officials to delete their Facebook accounts after fears about marital troubles caused by the site.

Thou shalt not commit adultery. And thou also shalt not use Facebook. That’s the edict from a New Jersey pastor who feels the two often go together.

The Rev Cedric Miller said 20 couples among the 1,100 members of his Living Word Christian Fellowship Church had run into marital trouble over the last six months after a spouse connected with an ex-flame via Facebook.>more.

Is your relationship doomed? Test may tell

A new test can predict whether or not a relationship will last, researchers say.

The test uses a word association task often employed to assess racism and bias to reveal what partners really think about each other, even if they don’t realize it.

Most previous research on relationship success has focused on directly asking couples how they feel about one another. > more.

Love Is A Shield (VIDEO)

camouflage love gaspi your guideLove is a shield,
to hide behind,
love is a field
to grow inside,
and when I sometimes close my eyes
my mind starts spinning around.
Love is a baby
in a mother’s arms,
love is your breath
which takes me warm,
and when I sometimes close my eyes,
my mind starts spinning around.

Is Living Together Really a Big Deal ?

couple carlo nocoraWe say yes. Here’s why.

Everyone wants to love and to be loved—they are the echoes that still reverberate in us from the Creator. But for whatever reason, it seems like it is getting more and more difficult to find and keep love. Some think it’s because we hardly talk anymore. With the advent of texting, twittering and Facebooking, it seems we’ve lost the art of holding in-depth, substantive conversations essential for long-term, loving relationships. > more.

Lord I lift your name on high (Music)

lord bemkyLord I lift your name on high,
Lord I love to sing your praises,
I’m so glad you’re in my life,
I’m so glad you came to save us.
You came from heaven to earth to show the way,
From the earth to the cross, my dept to pay,
From the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky,
Lord I lift your name on high.

Does God allow hard things?

There are times when life is hard, and answers are few.  When situations happen that challenge the core of who we are and what we believe.  When doubts plague our minds and trouble our souls. We ask where is God and will he meet the needs of my life.  Will he reach down and stop my suffering? We want the pain to stop and we want answers to our hard questions — NOW!” > more.

It seems that there are Mormons, and then there are MORMONS, or so I’ve heard. Then, my friend says, there are “different kinds of Mormons.” This past week I talked to a friend whom I haven’t seen since 2008. I love this friend — we struggled through some very trying times together, and we learned much about ourselves and one another during the years when we […]

It seems that most people are fully occupied in mind and body for at least six full days each week. Up early and late to bed, multi-tasking all the way through. Then comes Sunday. A day historically and culturally set aside for rest. For many, it is a day of spiritual rest. For others, it is a day to walk the dog, spend time at the beach, wake up late and si […]
